We would like to thank local residents for their continued support - we are very grateful. Local volunteers continue to work at the Medical Loan Centre in Banstead where wheelchairs, commodes etc can be loaned out to the general public. The British Red Cross is launching a new 'Care in the Home' project initially based in St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey. This project will help people settle back into a normal routine, and regain confidence and independence following a short stay in hospital. We maintain close contacts with the local Brownie Packs and have run some first aid sessions for them, including casualty make up.......blood everywhere! We also support the Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS) based at Leatherhead Fire Station which responds to domestic house fires, providing comfort, support, and advice to those affected. Anyone wishing to learn more about the work of the Red Cross can contact Malcolm Cole on 01372 457392. The photo shows Malcolm Cole (Red Cross Trainer) with the 8th Bookham Brownies. Malcolm Cole
